| So I think that the new rules are pretty lame, but whatever, I will try playing them and see how it goes,
I don't like change haha
But does anyone else agree that anything that uses a temp is now the best thing you can take in your army.
Empire list at 3000 points
5 mortors and 3 hellstorm rocket batteries. Not sure if you can repeat rares with the new rules but if you can that right there is crushing armies.
Also lizardmen salamanders became one of the best units in the game, they were already good, but now that parshels are gone they are going to wreck!!!
Lets see how these new no guess stone throwers do as well,
as dwarves that can charge 15 inches haha

Or even str9 in the center, 3 around the outside.) Advantages of having the new book chained to my wrist

| Yeah I realize that you still get army saves but you can still take out entire units of guys with those weapons easily | |

| No partials is not that big a deal for breath weapons - they are one use only. Not clear yet if the Sallies will count as breath weapons, though I would doubt it, so they are even better now.
Stone Throwers are probably less damaging now. A good player would rarely mess up a guess anyway... sure now there is no chance of missing that guess, but you still scatter as normal, and double that if not using LoS, and you get saves now. S3 means no modifier so all my elves get their 5+ armor!
You can only take 3 of same special and 2 of the same rare, double that at 3000pts, so no 5 mortars...
I like the new rules. | |

| Well, it won't be a fun game that's for sure. But you can field almost that same setup now, and no one uses is cause it doesn't win, not cause they can't guess.
The new shooting rules for war machines make it easier to shoot them out now too. You can always wound on a 6+, all hits use the machines toughness (so 7), and the wounds are treated as remaining crew. So now you just need to roll three 6's to pop the whole machine. Xbows and RBT's love to shoot at War Machines...
But we will see, its all theory hammer till the dice hit the table.

| yeah but 4 up saves all the time is still sick, and horrors will still be good, along with like said above flamers.
And will karios now get a plus 6 to cast??? If so he will be so nasty. And Kugath is looking pretty good with the no guessing weapons anymore, but we will see

| I'm not sure about DL. Plaguebearers took a hit in the save department for sure, but now they get supporting attacks that are poisoned, can take LD to avoid march blocking (slowness was their biggest drawback), and on average move further - 11" vs 8".
Seems like a fair trade, you just have to play them differently.
Are you guys going to the Showcase tournament the day after the official release? Looking forward to seeing what you are playing and maybe get some games against each other.

| Hey guys,
You'll be happy to know that meltaguns have pissed me off enough to go back on all the sh@t I said about fantasy in that other forum. Plus from what I've read about the new Warhammer they seem to have corrected 90% of the issues I had with fantasy.
I started painting and assembling my Warriors of Chaos. I got about 10 warriors painted and about 5 marauder horsemen 50% done. Sooooo, who's up for some gaming this weekend? I have Saturday night free and I wanna some of the basics of fantasy (not the rules so much but general strategy). Anybody up for schooling a fantasy-noob-sick-of-40k-meltaguns-player?
OH, another question: is it worth giving your warriors a mark of chaos or can they do fine on their own without it? I am trying to build a chaos undivided force.

| chaos with Tzeetch get a 5+ ward in combat! Chaos are legit. tke 40 chosen with great weapons and watch your opponent melt away. Most of us are going to be at a 7th edition tournament on Saturday in PA. you should come cheer for us. | |

| Tzeench is cool that could work...thats a lot of point in chosen. 40 of them? wow. I hear that massed rank and file is now going to be effective.
I've already glued shields to my chaos warriors, hope that doesn't make them suck. (thats the most annoying thing about 40k, spending hard-earned dollars on a unit, assembling it, spending time to paint it, then watching it wiff on the tabletop).

It’s the opposite full rank and file units are boss now as big as you can field. Sword and board with tzeench is the only way to get a 5+ ward in combat. Really cool.
