im looking for alot of cav. very mobil but hard hitting so..

Lord on cold one
H armour w/ regen cloak n shield
dawnstone
dragon egg
lance

Lv4 on cold one
extra spell (metal) reverse ward

BSB on cold one
H armour cloak shield
beastmaster scourge
hydra banner

cauldron

Lv2 on dark steed (shadow)
scroll

10 dark riders with xbows
7 dark riders with xbows
6 dark riders with xbows n shields
6 dark riders with shields n musician

2 hydras

9 cold one knights full command
+D3 combat res when i charge

have the L2 and her unit or dark riders stay back n cast miasma and whatever else i may get from shadow and the unit with shields to keep flyers n ambushers from rear charging me or redirecting. the other 2 units vanguard and march around being annoying. take out some war machines.

the big block of knights can charge in using 7th BG tactics n hit with a ton of attacks from the banner and cauldron. keep the bsb in the second rank so he cant be shanked.


ive played a couple games and so far so good but my competition up here isnt much to be talked about

Assuming your knights are 5 wide with lord bsb and l4, the only way to keep the bsb in the back rank is to put the Level 4 up front. Is that the intent?

Also, no hatred on mounts anymore.


I like the idea of the mounted Dark elves, but I could never keep my cold ones alive vs artillery or ignores armor crap.

cauldron helps alot. 2+/5+ and you can get glittering robes for a 1+ just incase. yeah the lords are up front. even the caster is hard to kill. assuming i get it off she would have a 3+ with the reverse ward

I don't remember them Faq'in the hatred on the mounts though martin. your dark rider units are too big and unless you are going to put the sorceress in the knights she's going to kill your fast cav ability. running multiple smalls is the way to go for dark riders and i reccomend chariots cause they are really good for combo charges against large units. Sorceress on a cold one is risky losing magic due to stupidity is really annoying and crippling.

I personally was toying with a large unit of dark riders 10-12 with shields that would have a sorcress with dark magic to get soul steal though and such of that nature. you might want to think of adding bolt throwers are a way to pick off things that you don't want to deal with most of the time.

i need core. 1 unit is for my L2 the other just hangs back. i can split the 10 into 2 units of 5. that gives me 3 vanguards. i did 10 cause they can suck up some shooting and still be effective incase i have to kill a dwarven or empire warmachine with engineers near by.

the faq says ignore the last sentence for eternal hatred which states the mounts get it

Yeah I just re-read it. If you have multiple units you can hit multiple war machines and it splits the targets. They normally can't kill one unit of 5 by the time they can get to the warmachine. on average its only sucking up 1 maybe 2 turns of shooting.

I use a Master on dark pegasus to kill warmachines as well though with the ring and Sea dragon cloak that halves strength.

yeah i have ran guys on a peg before. im going more for the block of knights. alot of big tournys have been banning stubborn lord crap. i have a bunch of knights n wanna run them. more of a theme than anything. alot of cav no one expects. assuming i blessed them with an extra attack id hit a unit with

14 attacks from the unit at S6
10 cold ones at S4
3 from the caster at S3
1 from the bsb at S4 ap
6 from the lord at S6
plus his breath weapon
all but 5 with hate.

the unit of 10 dark riders can flank and maybe disrupt if needed

I think you should have that unit of spearmen with shank a dude. its just to good not to have

Its not needed, beside the spear men unit doesn't work with the way this army is designed.

Exactly. It's all fast except the cauldron. It's not my tourny list it's something I wanna play for fun. if harpies counted as core I'd have those in here too
