| 2500 VC
im making up some lists. keep in mind i dont have a vast collection so this is straight from what i have available to me
Vamp lord L2 sword of anti heros armour of fourtune shield dawnstone ironcurse icon quickblood red fury
Vamp bsb L2 barded nightmare Armour of destiny lance shield dark majestry dark acolyte
Necro L2 seed of rebirth rod of flaming death
39 ghouls
31 skeletons sb, mus banner of swiftness
10 Black knights sb, mus flaming banner
2x 6 dire wolves
spirit host
black coach
terrorgeist
vargulf
like i said i dont have a huge collection like some. my army was built for the last book. i own 120 ghouls cause 2 months ago it worked lol. i really wanna run them but i dont have the coin right now to buy what i need (just purchased about 2500 points of dark eldar) so im looking for idears.
ive been running mannfred and i love him but all the lists i see on forums make a combat vamp and use necromancers so i figured i would forgo a named character due to most tournys dont allows them and make a list.
any advice would be great. i own:
120 ghouls 2 vargulfs coach terrorgeist 30 skeletons 20 zombies 4 vamps on foot 1 mounted vamp 10 black knights old krell 30 dogs 13 wraiths n a banshee 42 grave guard w/GW 14 gg w/hws
im gonna slowly get more but for now.........

| coach it soo diesel though. i was thinking of dropping the knights entirly, vargulf, and spirit host and run kinda what i did with the old book. id have to spend alot on vanhels to move them but they would be more durable and easier to raise back up. | |

| They're really easy to convert. Just get some spare bitz and models and paint em all spookily.
Or if you wanna be cheeky one of those lolliop ghosts on a 40mm base. (You know the things with a white piece of paper tied around a tootsie pop to look like a ghost?)

| Well your collection is not bad at all. You have all the tools and units that made the VC great in the last book and are all still usable.
Zombies are of course the new crack when it comes to Core. They raise fast as hell, tie up units and are cheap.
I would venture to say that most core will look like this:
40 Ghouls w/ Ghast (410)
40 Zombies w/ Command (130)
25 Zombies w/Command (85)
Thats 625 on the nose for 2500. From there I would say its up to you how you want your army to run. In my opinion if you are running the Black Knights I would run it with 3-4 characters in there. If not I would go with a big block of GG with GW and stick a Vamp or two in there on foot.
With your collection and with how VC play now here is what I would run:
Vampire Lord- 359 Lvl 1, Vampire Lore, Red Fury, Quickblood, Heavy Armor, Shield, Ogre Blade and Dragon Helm
Necromancer Lord - 225 Lvl 4, Vampire Lore and Earthing Rod
Vampire - 196 Lvl 1, BSB, Quickblood, Heavy Armor, Shield, Sword of Might, Dragon Bane Gem and Ironcurse Icon
Necromancer - 90 Lvl 1, Dispel Scroll
40 Ghouls- 410 Ghast
40 Zombies- 130 Standard & Musician
28 Zombies- 94 Standard & Musician
30 Grave Guard- 440 Command, GW and Banner of Barrows
Spirit Host- 45
Spirit Host- 45
Spirit Host- 45
Terrorgheist - 225
Black Coach- 195
Thats 2499 and is pretty nasty. The only thing you need is more zombies, and to build some spirit hosts.

| Personally I dont like the Terrorgheist, it does give you a shooting weapon per say but its a lot of points and can easily get tied down.
For those same points you can have almost 6 Crypt Horrors. Just drop 2-3 Zombies and you are there. But you didnt have those models so I didnt use them.

| I just got 20 more zombies last night. I can't really drop a lot of money right now. Planning a wedding. A lot of my stuff comes from all the tournaments I run(they pay me in figures) and prizes I win when I Play. I LOVE the rules for bat swarms. They go in with the GG and suddenly that block is twice as effective. | |

| Yeah bat swarms are awesome. Havent used them yet but they have potential.
As for Zombies you should check out the Mantic Zombies. You get 30 guys in a box for $35 and they blend really well with GW ones. All mine are Mantic Zombies and they look great.

| To be fair, everything Joe owns is Mantic :P Though, also to be fair, the models I've seen in person ARE fantastic. Definitely worth looking into. | |

| The prob with them is they're non gw figures n a lot of places won't allow them. At least around me. I get stuff almost at cost so it's not that big of a deal. I also try as hard as possible to avoid fine cast. I'm gonna trade in some stuff and use my support earnings from the tourny I'm running Saturday to get 2 boxes of vargeists | |

| @Phillip - you are correct sir, besdies some Dire Wolves and Crypt Horrors. I do work for the company so I may be a little biased. But I worked for GW for 7 years and only every used their figures and when I switched it opened my eyes to the other miniature ranges that are less expensive and sometimes better looking.
But if you stores require GW minis then there is not a whole lot you can do there.

| Not just my store but a lot of big tournaments do as well. Plus I like sticking to the model range | |
