Combat simulator. aka Corsairs vs Witches.

Over the past couple days I've been working on a script to simulate combat. It's getting to be pretty useful now so I figured I'd share some findings.

It handles most of the important stuff, initiative order/simo, poison, kb, undead, unbreakable, hatred, frenzy, steadfast.
So far just single unit stats, no multiwound models, no characters or champ, and it doesn't factor frontage in contact when calculating number of attacks (yet). Combat res is just static ranks and wounds

A Typical combat run looks like this:

1. 40 Corsairs fighting , i:5, 60 attacks. 48 hits. 15 wounds. 4 after armor(3). 4 after ward(6). -- 1. 24 Chaos Warriors fighting , i:5, 24 attacks. 18 hits. 16 wounds. 14 after armor(6). 12 after ward(5). --
Chaos Warriors win by 8 5(
2. 28 Corsairs fighting , i:5, 38 attacks. 22 hits. 10 wounds. 5 after armor(3). 5 after ward(6). -- 2. 20 Chaos Warriors fighting , i:5, 24 attacks. 14 hits. 10 wounds. 7 after armor(6). 3 after ward(5). --
Corsairs win by 3 flee 7(5)

And then of course I can run it hundreds of times over and get an overall view.
The outcomes are still really random, which is interesting, there's a general curve but more variation than I'd expect.

So far (and no surprise to anyone) Corsairs > Witches vs T3 (no buffing other than 5+ ward from cauldron), but witches do better on toughness over 4.
Killing blow works really well with the corsairs, they end up getting close to witch numbers.

Shadow magic makes a huge difference, it seems to work better with Corsairs (can't back that up yet, but it comes back around to armor save vs no save). Mindrazor is automatic. 100% no argument.

It's not ready to put up anywhere, but I can take requests for unit x vs unit y

Wow. that's not pretty.
They lose to unbuffed (not even 5+ ward) corsairs about 95%
so this is ws3, s3, t4, i2, ld7, add hw, 6+ ward(warpaint) & frenzy. 10x4.

I don't have the choppa rule yet, so just call it S4 for now (most combat lasts 1 round)
That makes it better, they take about 30% of combat.

Any other special rules?
The numbers after "win by" are the leadership roll (what you need to roll to stay in combat)

yeah thats what I figured and no they are all s4 like you said nothing crazy too them,

However could make them big uns

then they are st4 base st5 with choppa.

Give them the magic buff that gives them asf and rerolled hits they are really nasty though.

Try one more for me,

Black orcs 40 of them with just choppa and shield.

So they will be str 5 t4 i3 ws5 4+ armor with parry save as well.

They should do a little more damage.

Savage biguns take about 60% vs 5+Warded Corsairs
They lose about 60% to unbuffed Witches. they lose 90% to 5+Warded Witches


Black Orcs lose 60% to warded witches, they win 70% vs unbuffed Witches.

Corsairs lose by lots.

Unmarked Chaos Warriors with even frontage will beat Black Orcs 60% of the time, a smaller unit (3x8) that flips the other way.

Definitely not a guarantee for just about anything.

Next up will be Mounts, AP, ASF/ASL and Kaleb's dice. Probably work on those saturday.

Hey Martin have you done any more simulations lately?

I added Fear, mounts & charging before I got caught up in the last tournament. Still need to do asf/asl.

And I'm questioning my decision to write it in Javascript. Might do some more this weekend.
