tau list 2000 points

I know I’ll mess up the names so shut up.

2 groups of 10 kroot and 3 kroot riders deploy them on the table
2 groups of 12 fire warriors with marker drone and something else I don't remember
2 groups of 3 broad sides captain they have items that allow them to fire at different targets and move and fire. With the missile pods
1 hammer head with rail gun and stuff
1 formation or 3 paronas with the melta gun add on
1 group of 5 marker light guys with the tank
Hq guy with his other battle suit buddies plasma guns

I might have other stuff but I can remember

My question is am i way of tactic or is this ok so far?

Hmm, It seems really interesting. Do you still want that Tau fire warrior group and Devil fish I think it only has 8 fire warriors though. I am unfortunately not too familiar with playing tau but the 2 groups of kroot might be too squishy to leave at 10 man each. You got a decent amount of firepower but not a ton of guys to go along with it. Personally I'm not a fan of Krootox Riders those points might be better spent putting more kroot into the units.

I hope that helps I'm still kinda waking up so I'll mention anything else I can think about when I'm more awake.

Honestly that hammerhead will be too large a target. It's the only serious vehicular threat in the list and so will be neutralized (at least a shaken result is all that really matters) over and over again. Then again, just sitting at the far end of the board with the 4+ save from being >12" away (you do take that wargear right?) could distract some of the higher strength guns away from your suits...

he does. if anyone writes a tau list without d-pods, a vespid flies down and keeps slapping you until you put it in.

Other than that I can't tell if you approve of the railhead or not Let it divert fire, that's all good, it's got good front armor, packs a punch and you can put seeker missiles on it which can fire even if the thing is immobilized. Meanwhile the piranhas move fast & pack melta.


The only thing I'd change is to find space for more pinning weapons. Squad of 6 fire warriors with carbines to hop in the pathfinder fish, or some deepstriking gundrones.
If you've got the markerlight support, to me that's how tau has to take down infantry/assault lists

just an opinion, you're wasting a lot of points on firewarriors. They aren't that hot. at all.

So I've played 2 games so far both times we played the draw mission i won 1 game and tied the other. I see so changes i need to make but for the most part I'm loving the list
