Cannot retire players anymore

So I was looking in the LRB5 and I can not see anyplace that talks about retiring players. I know you use to be able to convert them into assistant coaches but I think that has been removed.

So if you have that hurt expensive big guy you might just be stuck with him.

If I am wrong please tell me the page number, because I think I am going to have a couple zombies I don't need.

On p. 29, section 2.5, about the post match sequence:

Each coach must decide if they wish to spend any gold in the team treasury to buy new players and coaching staff for their team, and/or let go (i.e. fire) any team re-rolls, players, or coaching staff from their team who are no longer wanted

Converting retired players into assistant coaches is a house rule, to the best of my knowledge.

Ah okay that explains it. I was searching for retire not fire.
