won again with efeora, took:

eFeora
bonded Redeemer
Reckoner
Vanguisher
Full Bastions
Min Errants
Choir
Vassal
Book

I felt like the Reckoner was a bad choice, would have been better off with a Templar for the extra armor and beatback, having the gun on the Reckoner was next to useless and only effective when I gave it 2 extra focus (rat5 pow 13 not being especially great).I probably used it too much like a ranged jack, but if I really need a combat heavy the Templar (or even the Castigator) is a better choice at 8 points (though maybe a Crusader would be even better).

The Errants too, though they occasionally played properly (with not dieing tying units and jacks up shenanigans), were generally less useful than the cleansers have been. They were a better tarpit, but I really don't need another tarpit after the bastions I need some offense and board control (which you get in spades from sprays and the incinerate order.

The Errants I think will be MUCH better with the Seneschal. There were at least two games where I'd wished for Hunter and Pathfinder. When the book comes out these may become my favorite guys, we'll see.

Soon as I hit that you were not happy with your Reckoner I was thinking you should swap for a Crusdaer, glad to see we are on the same page. I have no experience with the Castigator but it seems to be a hitter and less able to take some punishement like the crusader, YMMV of course. Any batreps? Would love to read about the games.

sure: I'll see if I can oblige. As a note, out of 10 players, 4 were cygnar, 2 cryx, 1 menoth, One Ret, no Khador, 1 Circle and one I don't recall. I wrote out a second list (eKreoss Exemplar Spam) but didn't ever use it, since swans burn so good. And I never had to use it.

The main strategy here is predictably to light everything squishy on fire. Redeemer shoots from downtown at the main battle line for two turns, the vanquisher tries to get at least 2 turns of shooting with the vassal, looking for the shot on the caster and the bastions and the errants are there to slow you down and particularly wall up in front of feora. The main threat vector is always lighting the enemy caster on fire and chipping away at them until you get that last shot off. I think in two of 4 games the caster died to maintenance phase fire damage, which is basically the whole game plan.

The first two battles were against Cygnar (Siege and I think one of the Caines) and were not especially notable.

In the first game 5 out of 6 errants died to a B13 magestorm turn 2 b/c I didn't spread them out, the reckoner tarpitted rowdy or an IC for a turn then got free when the ignited bastions did ridiculous damage. The jacks really out-ranged the choir (though never so much they couldn't get a song.) Escort was huge, running the Reckoner 12 inches the first turn was nice, and he had a 12" threat range (too bad I never really used him offensively.) Feora actually got the kill shot with her flamer through the whole infantry mess in the middle of the board with fully boosted shot. Scenario was Overrun, nobody scored any control points.

In the second game against Siege the scenario was the flag one, Incursion I think. The redeemer camped on one of the control points and shot into the enemy army (which was AGM with marshalled defender, lancer, cyclone and 2 stormsmiths and some other stuff.) He actually killed a stormsmith from 3" away with a template that couldn't deviate off then shot into Siege killing Reinholdt and strangeways. In this game I nearly died, Feora had to move too far to the side to spray junior (which she did successfully) but left herself exposed to Siege and the defender (whose AGM captain had died at that point). She was down to 5 boxes, but I'd done so much to Siege too that I was able to get him with either fire or a spray the next turn...I don't think I even feated that game.

Third game was against Skarre. He had three heavies, sytixis and a unit of bane knights then skarlock and mechthrall unit to sacrifice. He was feeding the heavies a lot of focus but between the errants, the bastions and my heavies they didn't do too much. the Redeemer was actually the star, and it just worked out that instead of staying by eFeora he got behind the cryx heavies and killed Skarre from 4 inches away with skyhammer shots. The worst this got was on Skarre's feat turn, but he was using it to attrition me, not assasinate and with the Bastions and the Errants I was able to really control how much he hurt me. This was the game where I started to figure the errants out, they tied up the sytixis until the raiders were dead, and were able to keep the corrupter in place for 3 turns (in part by not getting burster-ed). As in my other games, Feora only ever cast Escort and Ignite. She never even fired her gun this game I think.

4th and final game was against Paul Johanns, he's the other PG at GCS (Bewie here on these forums). He took his new favorite toy (and mine for the boys in blue too) Estryker T4 list. (eStyker, 2x Sclads, 2 SB units, 2 SB UAs, laddermore, Sentinel) We got placed on maybe the worst table in the whole event for him, 4 big pillars at approximately the kill box corners and then TWO large forests in the middle of the pillars leaving a 6" wide diagonal killing field between them. This was the game I would have killed to have the Seneschal for the Errants. Hunter would have made an already not super fair fight worse. I put the Redeemer staring down the shooting gallery, the errants across the front of it the bastions behind and the two heavies facing the edge of the close forest. He sent Laddermore around behind as a spoiler but she never did anything. One of his SB units faced the open alley, the other the forest catti-corner to my heavies, one stormclad was on the far edge of that forest, the other basically right in front of the alley. He's 17 inches into the board on the first turn with advance move and I went first. I shoot over the errants (who are already clogging up the one clear lane) with the redeemer and effectively kill the visible SB unit with maintenance phase fire in one turn (his first and then clean-up on the second). Escorted heavies get into the forest and mostly through it by turn two. The reckoner gets to clear space in the middle and tied up the Sentinel and the threatening stormclad for a turn. He does a number on it with Positive charge, leaves it with one box and then made his fatal error, he brought stryker up deal that last box of damage. The reckoner was blocking my LoS to Stryker, tied up in melee and in my charge lane. Once it was dead, and Stryker so close it was just a matter of feora feating, charging the sentinel, Fire Stepping around and taking 2 fully boosted hits on Stryker then watching him burn on his maintenance phase.

Basic plan worked each and every time with the exception of screwing up the errants. Bastions and melee heavy act as tarpit and a wall, redeemer and vanquisher light everything on fire, get caster kill from fire or feora. Rinse, repeat.

Another of the PP coins, and a $10 door prize.

Considering the event was free with the day pass I'd say it was a good day.
