What do you think "broken units"

The Topic says it all

Black guard was the old broken unit, I still think there really good but broken not any more. If I had to say I would go with 40 to 30 chosen warriors.

Mark of nurgle frenzy banner with shields and Halberds Gift of chaos and 2 war shrines.
Throw a bsb and a lord lvl hero in there and that is allot of hate.

If you’re really trying to make it gay give the BSB the Banner that makes you stay on
any doubles or any roll of a 1.

So now you have a stubbron 10 unit with 4+ ward save cant be hurt by magic and they are -2 to shoot at.

Also with teclis in there come on.... haha so nasty.

And if you really want you could make them be white lions instead so that your getting all strenght 6

But I like the 4+ ward just in case someone is shooting you with cannons or something. either way that unit is so dirty.

black guard suffer in 8th primarily due to the 5-20 size restriction.

virtually anything big they're going to get into combat with is going to be steadfast

even gnobgoblars are going to be able to put 6 attacks per round on a character, get at least one wound.

I can see myself heading towards Beasts & Chariots for Dark Elves. Hydra is the king.

teclis never he dies the first round easy. I like the rest thou. Named Characters are never the answer what korhiels ward save. And a bsb that’s not on a horse can only have a 4 plus 6 plus or can high elves have a magic banner and magic items?

Good unit. But not immune to magic. They get a 2+ ward against wounds. Still a lot of things that could take them out, slow them up, or rot them away. Good points denial probably and a bunker for teclis. With orcs I'd just keep trying to pound them with stone throwers and doom divers, and toss small stuff in their path. With ogres...no clue, maybe suicide a unit of ironguts into them and hope to have enough left to put 12 attacks on Teclis.

I wouldnt move that unit the whole game. And like I said trouble brews and run teclis out.

But even if you take teclis out thats fine that unit is still nasty either way.

And yeah maybe shooting it alot with the orcs might take it down, but in that army with 6 bolt throwers I am shooting your warmachines first turn taking out the crew and then its over.

That is an out magic out shoot army that will be very hard to take down.
