Expolain WoTR

Hey,
Explain this game to me. I have a LOT of figures for this game, but have never played.
How many points is normal for a WoTR game? Are the models comparable in cost to Fantasy? (i.e. will I need 80+ models to make an army?)

Also, is the game more based around troops or is the game based around the heroes of the WoTR universe?

A good size WOTR game is about 1750 to 1500 you can easily go above that and bellow if you would like. In my 1750 army witch is a light cavalry heavy infantry army I have about 100 models on the field. Money wise this is about 400 dollars worth of product. The only reason it’s so expensive is because I have allot of characters and crossbow men. (Metal)

You can play a game how ever you would like the heroes don’t influence the game as much as a fantasy game but the do more then in 40k. The easiest way to describe what they do is space Marian chapter bonuses.

Characters give things like higher fight to your command company and might if you ever want to play a game let me know and I think I can get army’s together to play with.

there points coast is a little high but there heros should make up for the coast. your courage and fight is higher then almost all the other armys. and shooting for you is really good. your going to need to play games to learn all the little things that make you good i would sugjest allies find witch ones you like.

I like the elves and rolled with them as my starting army in WoTR. As Scooter said they are pricey list-wise so your opponent will likely outnumber your companies by a good bit and with mostly strength 3 attacks against those blasted defense 6 and 7 units it may seem an insurmountable task to bring them all down. Our ace up the sleeve is the fact all elves cause terror and while their "shields are broad and their armor thick" a failed courage test can turn even the hardest of evil infantry into a tray of baby seals waiting to get clubbed... or glaived if you prefer.

As for allies, I have a pair of Ents for some monster fun and a Gondor Trebuchet to try and smash that &^% Khamul before he gets in range to start bouncing hits.

I went with Lothlorien elves as I already had some models from the set and my love of Galadriel and Celeborn.

I am probably going to spend the weekend deep in assembly of some metal on base action.
