| Meeting was brought to order by Scooter and a call for old business was made. Blood Bowl league is looking very exciting with many involved. Looks to be a great campaign between the two stores (GW Battle Bunker and Games & Stuff). Mordhiem looks to be progressing well with more rules and campaign polishing this could be a great campaign. Tales of the 4 Gamers - This is a event specifically for the Battle Bunker and spearheaded by the Battle Bunker Manager. Sign ups are happening now. Magic the Gathering - we have several people excited to learn to play this card game and we are looking forward to meeting that challenge. The work on decks continues and many of the council members ask that our players put up deck ideas and lists on our forums. Forums - With that in mind it is brought up to please keep the forums very delineated and do not clutter forums areas with discussions that do not pertain to the forum area's topic.
With that a motion was made to discuss New Business. Our need for a current tournament schedule was brought up and the council began to plan out the next several months of major events. September is full of events that the Inner Circle Gaming Club is a part of, including... Sept. 5th - a 40K Doubles Tournament Sept. 12th - a 2250 WHFB event Sept. 19th - another WHFB Event With this in mind we started our planning with October. October 24th - a 1750pt War of the Rings Tournament will be held at Games and Stuff. There will be 16 slots for the event and sign ups will happen shortly on the Inner Circle Gaming Club web site. A $5.00 charge will be used to participate in the event. November 14th - a Blood Bowl All Star Event (one day Tournament) will be held at Games and Stuff. There will be 32 slots and sign ups will happen shortly on the Inner Circle Gaming Club web site. A $5.00 charge will be used to participate in the event. December 5th - a Santa's Sleigh Event will be held at the Battle Bunker. There was no discussion about the number of slots open for this event or if sign ups would be necessary. Admission to the event will be a new unwrapped toy to be given to Toys for Tots. As Hanna has had previous experience in working with that organization the council "voted" to have her be the liaison between the Inner Circle and Toys for Tots. The next three months of major events were roughed out as follows... January - we are looking to run a WarMachine/Hordes event, possibly on the second weekend of January. February 6th - The Inner Circle Gaming Club will be running the Magic the Gathering: Worldwake Release Event at Games and Stuff. March - We are looking at running a 40K event... With all of these events needing sign up access on the web site, Scooter stated he will talk with the web site administrator to have such a place set up on the site (hey Lincoln!). With the need for War of the Rings scenarios looming large, four volunteers have stepped forward to create some. Matthew, Brent, Bobby and Scooter will have events created and emailed to Scooter by next Tuesday so they may be discussed and rewritten if needed. The three new 40K Scenarios were brought out and discussed at length. A number of changes were brought up for all three rounds including such things as the need for victory points instead of kill points in the scenarios and the stressing that only troops can take and hold objectives (this is stated in the basic rules but this can not be stressed enough). Scooter is changing the scenarios to fit the needed alterations and will have them ready to view shortly. Bylaws and Council positions were brought up but due to timing issues, these concerns were tabled until the next meeting. With that the Council called an end to the meeting and the next meeting date for the council was decided. That date is September 15th. With that the meeting was adjourned.

Am I to believe this makes Pedro Kantor's rule giving a unit of sternguard the ability to be a scoring unit just...obsolete? Seems weird.

| No, what was meant was just that the scenarios would use the Base Rulebook conditions for scoring/contesting objectives, and any codex adjustments to that like Pedro etc. | |

| Okay fair enough. The June tournament specifically negated Pedro's ability which seemed really silly to me. | |

| That was the point made at the meeting, that people expect the rules at tournaments to be the actual rules, and that scenarios need to work within the confines of the normal game rules. (notwithstanding the distinction between kill points and victory points and victory conditions). | |

| Well, to be fair, I have nothing against scenario special rules that just add something. But removing rules already in existence can be problematic. | |

| I see what you guys are saying. I play in tournaments for fantasy that change the core rules on you. It forces you to think different and usually makes players play harder thus for me making the game fun. I see what everyone is talking about with the hole changing the rules thing but as long as it's not our get I don't see a problem. | |

| I think the problem you will run into with changing rules is that for people who show up to a tournament without checking everything out about it online before hand may be less than happy to show up and find the change. | |

| That was essentially the point, yes. We want to run kick-ass tournaments that EXCEED peoples expectations, and a part of that is we think using the rules that people expect and mixing it up with cool (but consistent) scenarios. | |

| I feel that for tournaments I have greater enjoyment when there is a bit of the unknown, ie scenarios that aren't in the rulebook. If I want a rulebook game I have plenty of chances during the week. | |

| Something I found very helpful from my V:tM LARP games. Any House Rules/FAQs/Special Tournament rules should be printed out and given to each person when they sign in so that there are no big surprises as play begins. This doesn't cover every time as it does imply that the person will read the rules, but it should keep issues to a minimum.
Just my $.02 | |
