| Hey all what age do you think is ok to learn to play 40k? I played fantasy at 14 myself then quit and came back to 40k at I tho.k 25. My daughter has an intrest in my models and watching the game now 8 years old, think that's too young to start learning the rules or just right? | |

| 8, I think is a bit too early. 10-12 is a great age to start/learn (that is when my brothers and I started)
However, I would not recommend tournaments at that young of an age.

| Since it's a baby game for babies you could probably start at 8.
A real game like WM/H I'd start later.

| I'd say 10-12. And Avatar is right, I would avoid WM/H altogether. You want her playing with a friendly crowd not l33t gamers who hate GW. | |

| I think slowly teaching her on your own is a great idea. The math and reading involved is great at that age and doing it on a small scale is great.
When I ran a retail store for GW we held birthday parties for kids normally between the ages of 7-10 and they loved it. We kept the rules basic and got them used to the basics.
But hey she is your daughter and if she can handle it and keep with it go for it, but I would suggest her playing at home with you.
