Well speaking for Dark elves... the cauldron stuff has been clarified. MR, Terror, hatred and frenzy are back on the profile.. Other stuff.. they don't tell you what they took out.. like in the original version last week there was this question which clarified the hotek rule: - Quote :
- Q. Do area of effect spells miscast on a double if they affect any model
within 12" of the Ring of Hotek? (p102) A. Yes. This version doesn't have that anymore. Soo.. you're left with - Quote :
- Page 102 – Ring of Hotek
Change to “Any Wizard (friend or foe) attempting to cast a spell within 12" of the wearer must roll on the Miscast table on any roll of a double, but will only cast a spell with irresistible force on a roll of double 6.” and probably endless debates as to whether "cast" means "cast at", "cast by" or both.

| I don't understand...seems pretty clear english to me.
It's a simple check: Is the wizard casting a spell? Yes goto Is the wizard within 12" of the ring bearer? If Yes goto, if not stop If all others are yes and the wizard rolls any double the spell is miscast, if it is a double 6 it also goes off irresistable force. Resolve the spell then resolve the miscast. Otherwise resolve the miscast and continue playing.
There is no is it cast at the unit the ring is in, there is no is the spell landing within the bubble. That was all taken out.

Is the wizard within 12" of the ring bearer? But that's your text.. It doesn't actually say that. if scooter gets off a fireball from his slann against my blackguard that contains the ring. Did he not cast it within 12" of the bearer? That's like the fishing interpretation of cast, you cast it out at the target. It still works both ways. Doesn't really bother me either way since I rarely take the thing, but I liked it a lot better when it was clear what it did.

| I was going off what you typed: - Quote :
- “Any Wizard (friend or foe) attempting to cast a spell within 12"

and that didn't become "is the wizard within 12" of the ring?" until your post. Endless debate. I understand where you're coming from, but it still needs more clarification imo. I'd rather just dice it off than think about it anymore.
