| The Gauss weapons auto glance any vehicle on the roll of a 6 to wound. So any model that has a guass weapon, most all necron models can glance any vehicle of any armor value.
that seems pretty good to me....

| yup you cant make anything explode with most of your weapons but you can make it immobilized and then its useless anyway | |

| yeah and the second and future immobilized results will wither destroy weapons or the tank it self. May not seem like much to only glance a vehicle, but when every model can do it, it becomes a big deal.
This will even keep tanks from shooting or moving which is huge

| No where did i say that Str 8 AP1 wasnt the best way to kill tanks. But no 40k player would turn down the ability to have every model in their army to glance a vehicle with a Str 4 weapon no matter what the AV was of the tank. Here is what you can have in 1850:
Necron Lord w/ Veil of Darkness and Res Orb (Veil will allow you to teleport a unit around the board and get behind tanks with Immortals or Warriors or claim objectives)
10 Necron Immortals (Assault 2 Strength 5 24") 20 Shots on the move
15 Necron Wariors (Rapid Fire Strength 4 24") Possible 30 shots
15 Necron Warriors (Rapid Fire Strength 4 24") Possible 30 shots
10 Necron Warriors (Rapid Fire Strength 4 24") Possible 20 shots
5 Necron Destroyers (Heavy 3 Strength 6 36") 15 Shots moving and shooting 36"
5 Necron Destroyers (Heavy 3 Strength 6 36") 15 Shots moving and shooting 36"
Necron Heavy Destroyer (Heavy 1 Strength 9 36") 1 Shot on the move at 36"
Necron Heavy Destroyer (Heavy 1 Strength 9 36") 1 Shot on the move at 36"
So everything can damage a tank, and you have 2 threats that will be a pain if you dont kill them quick. They will need to be hit most likely with tanks or long range weapons that are not firing at your warriors and Immortals which is key. Its a solid army, not the best, but it would do just fine against mech. More Immortals is my normal preference, you could drop a unit of 5 Destroyers for more Immortals. My 2 cents, but they can absolutely kill tanks.

IMHO lol | |

| Aren't those Heavy Destroyers 65pt one-wound models with T5? Two lascannon shots for one turn won't be enough reliable anti-tank. I'm going to have to agree with Scooter that Gauss weaponry isn't the most reliably source of anti-tank. You still need a 6 with all of your shots, and then you need a 5+ to actually damage the tank. Also, with that list, since you won't be able to fit everything in range of the res-orb without your army being clumped together, a lot of your units will just get destroyed by things like Battle cannons, etc. | |

| Ok.. how about staying on track you forum nuts. In relation to you playing Tau, I personally have found the army interesting in design and play but they do play extremely different from your Sisters of battle. They have little to no combat units and focus heavily on evasion and deny units the ability to target them. I would perhaps look into adding a hammerhead into the mix it gives you only 1 railgun oppose to 3 but it allows you greater mobility. Thats my tips on tau I have never played the army but I have seen a few played and again as I mentioned they are very nice looking army with tons of plastic now and look like they take time to master due to them being extremely fragile in close combat against most infantry. | |

| Wow you guys are silly, Scooter you have not played enough 40k to make that type of judgement call about necrons, and Joe you have played way too much 40k not to know how bad necrons are right now under the current format. So both of you quit crying and just play already. Now back to topic Tau huh? were you thinking of going suit heavy or mech? | |

Quantity has a quality all it's own.

| Sweet! Can't wait to see them on the table. I just ordered some Magz from Amazon to magnetize the flight stands for my jetbikes and vypers. I might have to get some more bikes for a 3rd squad of Jetbikes but I'm to the council, autarch, 2 7+ jetbike squads with cannons and warlocks, 9 vypers, 2 Prisms and a Falcon or 2 and 3 Warwalkers. | |

| I like the all wraith guard army
Glance on 3,4 pen on 5,6 now that is sweet!!!
If necrons had that then I would def take them
But I think I would like to try and all wraith guard army and see how that works out.
All t6 guys is pretty tough to kill, and throw the warlocks in there and they all have cover saves.
And if you really want throw some of them in wave serpents, and add some wraith lords for long range damage, its a pretty sweet army in theory!!!
