October Minis Events @ Games and Stuff

Here's a list of all the October minis events at Games and Stuff - we have some cool stuff for you this month, so have a look.

Battletech/Leviathans - Saturday, October 6th

Start Time: 12:00pm
Format: Open Play/Demos/Scenarios

"Strap yourself into the ultimate suit of armor: the BattleMech. Thirty feet tall and weighing up to a hundred tons, this humanoid engine of destruction is a walking arsenal with enough firepower to level a city block. The BattleTech game system takes you into the world of the 31st Century, where war has become a way of life. You are a MechWarrior. You are in command of the most powerful machine on the battlefield, and hold the fate of empires in your hand!"

"Leviathans simulates combat between warships that have taken to the air in an alternate history/steampunk 1910. The king leviathans, battleships, are the largest vessels. Maneuvering in support are light cruisers, destroyers and other vessels. Will you captain your fleet for king and country, expanding your nation's power and becoming legend? Or will you fall from the sky, forgotten?"

Join Paul, our Catalyst rep, for a demo day of Battletech and Leviathans! Paul will be able to introduce new players to both the exciting world of mech combat, and the alternate history game of air fleet battles!

For our Battletech veterans, there will be a variety of fun scenarios to play as well!

MERCS Regional Tournament - Sunday, October 7th

Start Time: 11:00am
Format: Each entrant will play three games against a total of three different opponents. Scoring is based on total Blood dealt at the end of the game. Tournament winners will be determine via the total Blood dealt across all three games. Players must declare which MegaCon they are using for all games, but need not use the same five models in all games.
Point value: N/A
Number of Rounds: 3 rounds, 6 turn/1 hour limit
Entry Fee: $10

Join us for our very first regional MERCS tournament! Our regional MERCS tournaments are a collaboration between Games and Stuff in Glen Burnie, MD and Icons Comics & Games in Elkton, MD, and feature a rotating schedule to bring MERCS players in the greater MD/DE/VA area together! Our BlackOps rep, Andy, will be here all day to run the tournament and answer questions about the game.

Infinity Zombie Apocalypse! - Saturday, October 13th

Start Time: 12:00pm
Format: Cooperative Scenario - Defeat the Zombie Invasion!
Point Value: 150 pts per player

"Infinity is a game with 28mm high metal miniatures that simulates combat and special operations in a science fiction environment with Manga aesthetics. Infinity miniatures are characterized by the high quality and detail of their modeling, the dynamism of their postures and their futuristic aesthetic."

It's nearing Halloween and zombies are invading the Human Sphere! Join us for a day of semi-cooperative Infinity play, as we struggle to stem the zombie tide. Players should bring 150 points and will cooperate with 2-4 other players per table to defeat hordes of the infected undead. There will also be candy and other Halloween-related fun!

SAGA Demo Day/Meet and Greet - Sunday, October 14th

Start Time: 12:00pm
Format: Demo/Open Play - Just bring your minis and have fun!

"SAGA is a game for model soldiers set in the Viking Age, when strength and bravery were worth a thousand men. This period of history was an age of endemic warfare that saw mighty warlords at the head of their warbands struggle for power, wealth and glory, writing their legends with steel and the blood of their enemies."

Join our local SAGA representative, Len, for a full day of demos and meet and greet with the other SAGA players! Not new to the game but still want to play? Not a problem : bring a warband and get in some games! We'll also be discussing scheduling for a SAGA league, so if you're interested in participating, make sure you join us!

Our "Open Play" days offer a non-competitive environment in which to learn the game if you're new to it, playtest new lists or scenarios, paint your minis, and hang out with the local SAGA community!

Warmahordes Extravaganza! - Saturday, October 20th - Sunday, October 21st

Start Time: 10:00am, both days
Format: Summer Rampage/Steamroller/Open Play/Demo
Entry Fee: $20, or free with participation in Journeyman League

Warmahordes Extravaganza! is our biggest Warmachine/Hordes event of the year: twice as long means twice as much fun - and twice as much prize support! We're rounding out the main event season for the year (and our own Journeyman League) with a two-day event that encompasses both the casual and competitive aspects of Warmachine and Hordes.

Saturday, join us for Summer Rampage, an open play event where you earn victory points by fulfilling "bounties" - objectives that can be achieved over the course of the day. And on Sunday, we'll be running a standard 50 point Steamroller Tournament, so bring your best armies to flatten the competition! In addition, there will be free demos downstairs all day on Saturday and Sunday for new players; a painting contest that will be judged by both a panel of qualified judges and the local community; and door prize raffles on both days.

Malifaux Fall Story Escalation League - begins Sunday, October 27th

Start Time: 12:00pm on Sundays

Format: This is a story league: designed for beginners and casual players, this mini five-week escalation league focuses on the world of Malifaux and the rising powers within it. Players will choose a Master to focus on for five weeks, and their standings each week will affect the world and story that develops over the course of the league.

Themed encounters and strategies will be arranged by the event organizer each week, tailored to fit the chosen Masters and how the story is progressing.

Point Value: 25ss, 30ss, 35ss, 40ss, 50ss

Entry Fee: $10 entry fee for the whole league

Are you interested in and excited about the story and world of Malifaux? Then a story league is perfect for you! Designed to be especially accessible to casual players, this escalation league has heavy emphasis on both story progression and crew growth. The fun kicks off the Sunday before Halloween, as the two moons rise eerily over Malifaux and its inhabitants…

This is a closed league, which means that once the first week has passed, we will no longer be able to take sign-ups: this is due to the story nature of the league. Masters must also be unique to each participant, so to secure the Master of your choice, sign up early!

If you are interested in participating, please sign up in advance by emailing Sarah at sarah@gamesandstuffonline.com with your name, faction, and first and second choice of Master. Masters will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis.
