| So what armies are rarely seen at tournaments these days. I think I would like to do an army that is isnt seen as much for my next army.

| beastmen, bretonnia, wood elves. Pretty much anything with an ancient book and beastmen. They all have viable builds though. | |

? I've seen some very hard TK armies, or maybe just players that know how to play TK well. They play quite differently in the new book vs. the old.

| Sphinx can be very tough to get rid of. My last trouncing was from double sphinx, double giant. Got one Sphinx down to 1 wound on turn 1. It was fully healed up by the end of the game(. Just couldn't get that last wound on it. | |

| Remeber the constructs can only gain 1 wound per phase not spell, so spam healing isnt always that effective. Also I love collossi. XHW and you get a cheap hammer that is pretty tough in h2h. | |

| Joe knowing you you really should look into TK there are several builds there that are just to hardy for most armies to deal with. | |

| I think Beastmen are terrible. Brian has a good Beastmen list but even then it's very one dimensional. Casters and a big scary block of minotaurs.
the all chariot army does not against a "real" tournament army work due to leadership their 7 (any deamons, or will cause you grief).

| Well as with previous additions once I get into the rhythm of playing again I can make any army work and win with them. I'm not worried about what is "thought" to be terrible. | |

| Well in that case just try something that people don't usually win with.
Stay away from
Daemons Dark Elves Life Slaan Lizardmen New Vamps TBD
I'd like to see what your take is on High Elves.

| That was the idea of the thread, I want something unusual and that people can't point out that it was because of Mindrazor or some item that won me the game. High Wlvea could be cool although painting them might be a ball ache | |

| i ve been collecting wood elves as of late and i really like them. i like anything elf so.....
but the TK arent very flexable high to low points they dont do well from what ive seen. def better than they were though. If your looking to play for fun then find a model line you like and go from there. if you wanna win and D-bag it up daemons are for u lol

| Skaven win big and lose big. They are the most random army in Warhammer IMO. The only army that can make or break itself. | |

| Random movement, random attacks, even warpstone tokens. Bell has randomness, exploding weapons low leadership units, all kinds of stuff.... Spencer Wilkins is an amazing Skaven player. He usually wins but I'm sure he can attest to the wackiness of the rats. That to me, is part of the appeal for those that play them. Win big, lose big, always wacky fun. | |

| Whats the thoughts on the blades/glimmer scale/Aura of Dark Majesty/Beguile combo for Vampire Lords?
5+ to hit the lord, re-rolling successes if you fail the -4 LD test, 5+ ward if something manages to get through (due to Tali of Endurance).

| That's -3 inherant from the Beguile ability and -1 from Aura of Dark Majesty. Natural LD tests are only -1.
Beguile nominate a model in base contact with the Vampire they have to pass a LD test at -3 or reroll successful hits against the vampire.
So my question, can I nominate a screaming bell or plague furnace? Or how would that be worked out? It's a single model but it's a combined profile. How are they treated in challenges normally?

| In challenges, you challenge, then the opponent nominates who will accept. If he responds with the seer then it would be one test for everything?
The only thing you can target a location on a multi-profile model afaik are the death spells laniph, spirit leech (and potentially auto-kill a bell). That's in the WFB faq.
